Join us for a 12-hour Yoga Alliance Accredited immersive training designed to equip yoga instructors, therapists, educators, caregivers, and wellness professionals with the knowledge and practical skills to confidently guide individuals with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities through yoga and embodiment practices.

If you feel called to support others in a way that honors the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—then this Adaptive Yoga training is for you… Rooted in accessibility, the Adaptive Yoga Resource training empowers you with the tools to meet people exactly where they are, offering practices that nurture connection, regulation, and embodied presence. You’ll gain powerful tools to guide individuals with IDD / physical disabilities through foundational adaptive yoga practices. 

This training goes beyond modifications—it’s about empowering individuals to experience autonomy, joy, and connection through yoga. Whether you’re teaching in a studio, hospital, classroom, or one-on-one setting, this training will equip you with foundational tools to adapt a yoga practice effectively.

What You’ll Learn:
● Why adaptability matters
● Understanding functional movement, social-emotional learning, and embodiment
principles
● How to modify traditional yoga poses and breathwork practices for various abilities
● Adaptive chair and floor-based yoga practices utilizing props
● Adaptive mindfulness techniques for emotional resilience
● How to structure an adaptive yoga session for individuals and groups
● Language and cueing techniques to foster independence and empowerment through dynamic cueing practices (cueing seated and standing postures at the same time)
● Creating a welcoming environment for disabled populations

Upon successful completion of the course, you’ll receive a certificate recognized by Yoga Alliance for 12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). In some cases, special education teachers can use this course for CEU credits through their institution. More importantly, you’ll walk away with practical skills and tools to confidently guide those with IDD through foundational yoga practices. You do not need prior yoga training to join this course- a foundational knowledge of yoga is beneficial.

Upon successful completion of the course, you’ll receive a certificate recognized by Yoga Alliance for 12 Continuing Education Units (CEUs). A Quick Note

I’ve heard from a lot of folks who worry they’re “not in good enough shape” or “don’t know enough” about yoga to join this training. Please don’t let that stop you! This is an adaptive space where we celebrate all abilities, backgrounds, and experiences. You belong here exactly as you are. I am happy to hop on a phone call to answer any questions you may have. 

Early Bird Pricing 

Early bird pricing is available for this training! Early bird pricing ends on 10/19/2025. The cost for an early bird ticket is $350.00 including all fees! 

Financial Aid 

A very limited number of scholarship spaces are available and individuals requiring assistance are encouraged to apply! If you are employed by the DOE, Recreation Departments, or other facilities, we encourage you to explore whether your organization has funding or grants dedicated to continuing education for employees. The Adaptive Yoga Resource LLC can accept payment through a purchase order should your facility choose to cover the cost of training. To receive the scholarship application please send sophie@adaptiveyogaresource.com an email with the subject “Princeton, NJ Scholarship Application”.
